The Renaissance Mama's Happy Time Chocolate

Valentine's day is just around the corner.  This home-made chocolate recipe will be a great gift for any sweetie in your life!  And, it works for any special day of the year....

The Renaissance Mama's Happy Time Chocolate

What you'll need:
*1 package of Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips.  Any flavor will work…milk, dark, white, or a combo (or other high quality dark chocolate)

*1-8 drops of essential oil of choice: Peppermint, Cinnamon, Lavender, Wild Orange, or Ylang Ylang , are the best!  Get them here!

*Parchment paper

*Mixing bowl and spoon

*Candy mold (optional)

*Double Boiler (optional)

Directions:

In a microwaveable bowl, add chocolate chips and microwave for 30 seconds.

Remove and stir, then microwave in 10 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted.  You can also do this on the stove top with or without a double boiler method.  Stir constantly.

Remove from microwave and allow to cool for 1 minute (you NEVER want to heat the essential oils- they will lose their therapeutic benefits!) and add 1-8 drops of your favorite essential oil. Stir well.

On a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, spoon chocolate onto the paper, spreading across the paper. You can make this as thick as you’d like. Or if you have heart-shaped molds you can use those instead.  If making layers, let each layer cool before you add the other layer.  Place in freezer for 5 minutes. Remove and break into pieces, or pop out candy from molds if you used those.

*Note: Essential oils are potent! Start conservatively by first coating a toothpick in essential oil, and then dipping the toothpick into the chocolate. Increase gradually until desired flavor is achieved, using the toothpick method or adding essential oil one drop at a time.
